Many Finnish companies will not survive this crisis and leave the market. According to the Statistical Office of Finland, 1188 organizations filed for bankruptcy at the beginning of this year.
There are 62 (5.5%) cases more than in the previous year. These companies had 5,659 employees, now all of them have become unemployed. To compare with the previous year, only 430 newly unemployed were identified in Finland in 2019.
The majority of the bankrupt companies are engaged in the areas of construction, hospitality and catering.
There are also several mining companies among the bankrupt enterprises. Positive dynamics are observed only in the areas of agriculture and forestry, trade and transport.
It is noted that at the moment the Government of Finland provides all the necessary assistance to its citizens.
