ROYAL THAI NAVY OFFICERS HEROICALLY SAVED DROWNING CATS
The story of the miraculous rescue of four red cats from a sinking fishing boat off the island of Ko Adang has gone around the world media. On March 2, the Phamonsin Nava ship caught fire 13 km offshore. The rescued fishermen did not report that several red cats remained on the ship and were threatened with death.
The naval sailors who arrived at the scene of the tragedy found the animals fleeing on the crane of the ship that had almost completely sunk under the water.
Eight sailors began to rescue the frightened animals by swimming, since it was dangerous to swim closer to the sinking ship on a sea boat. The hero of the operation was 23-year-old Tatsafon Saiy - the sailor in a life jacket four times swam to a ship that was sinking under the water, he ferried the cats on his back.
After the last animal left the sinking ship, the ship finally went under water.
It is curious that the military arrived at the scene of the tragedy with a completely different purpose. They had to check if the fuel remaining in the tanks of the ship had leaked out. This danger still persists and can cause damage to the ecosystem of the coral reefs of the Andaman Sea. Finding the cats became possible thanks to the camera, through which the foreman of the first class Wichit Pukdilon examined the sinking ship, trying to zoom the picture.
And while the Thai authorities continue to search for the owner of the ship, who will have to answer for the possible damage to the ecosystem, the rescued cats have become the main objects of attention of sailors. So far, they have been placed at a military base on the island of Ko Lipe. Social media was flooded with comments from people from all over the world to the post reporting on the rescue operation.
