THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR OF THE NOVOSIBIRSK METRO STATION WILL BANKRUPT THE CUSTOMER
The company "Spetstransstroy" has published information about its intention to initiate bankruptcy of the municipal enterprise "Metro MIR" in the arbitration court of the Novosibirsk region. Previously, the company acted as the general contractor for the construction of the Sportivnaya city subway station, and Metro MiR was the customer of this facility.

In a publication that the organization posted on the Fedresurs portal, it is reported that the basis for such a step was a court decision related to the debts of the city administration during the construction of the Yeltsovsky residential complex (case No. A45-15029/2022). In November 2022, the court recovered from Metro Mir more than 187.689 million of the principal debt and about 15 million as interest for using other people's money.

According to the head of Spetstransstroy, Sergei Arapov, quoted by Continent Siberia, the debt of the mayor's office to the company has not been repaid in full. This is what prompted the contractor to start preparing for the trial.

Note that this is not the first attempt to bankrupt a municipal enterprise. In April 2024, Rusbankrot already reported on an attempt to initiate bankruptcy of Metro MiR by the Omsk company Trinity Telecom. The reason for this was a debt of 21 million. Hearings on this issue (case no. A45-12784/2024) are scheduled for August 15.

In January 2024, it was reported that another contractor was planning to start bankruptcy of Metro MiR. On January 24, a publication appeared on Fedresurs from KDS threatening the municipal enterprise with bankruptcy due to a debt of 11.6 million awarded by arbitration in November 2023 (case No. A45-17906/2023).

Experts note that about 350 cases are currently being considered in the courts, in which Metro MiR acts as a defendant. The total amount of claims against them is about 2.7 billion. At the same time, in 2023, the organization managed to increase revenue by 5%, almost doubling its net profit (up to 4.7 million).

The company "Spetstransstroy", which received contracts from the city authorities for various infrastructure facilities, is also going through difficult times. Rusbankrot already wrote about the financial problems of the company in June 2024. At that time, the Siberian Center for Consulting and Evaluation, acting in the interests of Tandem, reported on its intentions to initiate bankruptcy of the organization. But the case never came to trial.
