THE EUROPEAN UNION WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE ANTI-SEARCH BANS OF RUSSIAN COURTS
The European Union has banned the recognition and enforcement in the European Union of decisions rendered by Russian courts on claims related to EU companies in Russia. This statement was made as part of the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
As specified, the decision of the European Union on the positions of Russian courts "should protect" organizations in disputes with companies from the Russian Federation. According to representatives of the European Union, decisions on Article 248 of the Agro-industrial Complex of the Russian Federation often lead to "disproportionately high financial penalties" for European companies.
In addition, the European Union supported an exception allowing the unblocking of part of the finances held in central depositories. Now they have the opportunity to request the defrosting of funds from the competent authorities of the EU member states in order to fulfill their obligations to customers.
