OVER 100 BILLION WERE RECOVERED FROM GERMAN LINDE IN THE CASE OF RUSKHIMALLIANCE
The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg has recovered more than 669.7 million euros and more than 30.7 billion rubles (in total – more than 101 billion rubles) from the German manufacturer of industrial gases Linde. The plaintiff in the case is the Russian company Ruskhimalliance, the operator of the construction of a gas processing plant in Ust-Luga.

Ruskhimalliance has been in litigation with a former German partner for several years over a contract concluded with Linde and Renaissance Heavy Industries in 2021. The value of the transaction amounted to ˆ5.9 billion. The Russian company managed to pay an advance of ˆ1 billion.

The German consortium was to purchase materials and build a liquefied natural gas processing plant as part of an ethane-containing gas processing complex in the Leningrad Region. But in the spring of 2022, the head of Linde announced that the company was stopping any work on the territory of the Russian Federation due to sanctions. Ruskhimalliance broke the deal and filed a lawsuit. Arbitration at the end of 2022 seized Linde assets worth 35 billion.
