BALTIKA INTENDS TO BUY BREWERIES IN CHUVASHIA AND TATARSTAN FOR 3 BILLION
The Baltika Brewing Company initiated the negotiation process, wishing to acquire two large enterprises in Tatarstan and Chuvashia. We can talk about the plants "Bulgarpivo" and "Bouquet of Chuvashia".
Three sources of Vedomosti shared insider information. The amount of the transaction may amount to about 3 billion rubles. At the moment, the documents have been submitted to the FAS of the Russian Federation for consideration.
The Bulgarpivo company appeared back in 1981. At the moment, Oleg Meshkov is considered to be its beneficiary. The company has the capacity to produce up to 13 million dal of products annually. In 2023, the plant's revenue decreased by 5%, amounting to 1.4 billion rubles. At the same time, the company suffered losses in the amount of up to 150 million.
Baltika's interest in the Bouquet of Chuvashia plant is related to its capabilities. First of all, we are talking about the production of malt, which is an important component for brewing. Bulgarpivo is also an attractive asset, despite the recent financial difficulties.
In December 2023, the Federal Tax Service filed a lawsuit to declare the company bankrupt in connection with a debt of more than 400 million. However, the court case was suspended.
Experts estimate the Bouquet of Chuvashia plant at 2 billion, while the cost of Bulgarpiva may be about 700 million. Analysts believe that the financial support and resources that Baltika can provide will make it possible to modernize and optimize the work of both enterprises, which will strengthen their position in the market.
Baltika previously came under the control of the Federal Property Management Agency. This happened after in 2023, the President of Russia transferred Carlsberg's share in the company (98.56%) to the state.
