THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE WILL INCREASE THE LIMITS FOR BANKS ON PREFERENTIAL MORTGAGES
THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE WILL INCREASE THE LIMITS FOR BANKS ON PREFERENTIAL MORTGAGES
The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation is preparing a resolution on increasing the limits for granting preferential housing loans to banks. Banks, due to the increased demand for housing loans for state programs, have almost exhausted the limits, Izvestia reports.
Against the background of the increase in the Central Bank's key rate, credit institutions began to increase mortgage rates to 16% per annum. At the same time, the demand for preferential programs has increased significantly.
Limits are set on the amount of money that banks can issue to their customers in the form of subsidized housing loans. Since the demand for preferential mortgages has grown significantly, this limit is almost exhausted.
Of the main banks of the Russian Federation, only VTB has a large reserve of limits. At the same time, the total limit for issuing mortgage loans under state programs was 8.4 trillion rubles.
