ASTRAKHAN POULTRY FARM IS HEADING FOR BANKRUPTCY
On March 16, 2023, the Stepnaya poultry farm (LLC SHP – Stepnaya Poultry Farm) was taken under surveillance (case no.A06-9523/2022). The next hearing in court is scheduled for April 11, 2024. The proceedings were postponed by the Arbitration Ruling issued at the end of February. Temporary management is entrusted to Sabina Razinkova.

In January 2022, Rusbankrot already described the financial problems faced by the poultry farm located in the village of Nikolaevka. Then the company was faced with the mass death of birds.

The lack of feed, caused by the company's multimillion-dollar debts, led to the loss of about 2 thousand heads of birds. Employees of the organization posted disturbing publications on social networks with videos of dead birds and their appeals to the authorities. However, this did not significantly improve the situation.

Before that, in November 2021, the production facilities of the enterprise, located on an area of 33,700 square meters. The meters were put up for auction. It was planned that the buyer would become the owner of 350 hectares of land and buildings located on it. The initial value of the lot was announced (20.8 million) and even the buyer was determined.

Subsequently, it became known that the winner of the auction refused the deal. Information about this was announced on May 18, 2024 at a meeting in the relevant committee of the regional Duma.

The problems of the poultry farm are complicated by investigative processes that are regularly initiated by supervisory authorities against the heads of the enterprise. One of the directors of Stepnoy, who led the organization in 2013-2016, embezzled about 1.5 million funds allocated from the state budget. In July 2023, the court conditionally sentenced him to 2 years and 4 months in prison. For damage of 3.5 million, the ex-head was fined 300 thousand.

Another ex-head, while serving as acting director in 2016, transferred about 40 tons of compound feed to an outside organization, receiving 530 thousand for this. At the same time, he did not have time to return the money received to the cash desk of the poultry farm. For his crime, he also received a suspended sentence of 2 years, receiving a fine of 50 thousand.
